Chip Stanley is an artist returning to a focused studio practice after 20 years teaching design at the College of Architecture at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. His work begins with observation and looking for places where humor and material overlap. In collaborative projects, he is interested in improvisational spaces where visual artists, musicians, dancers, and designers come together to create public performance. He holds an MFA in Painting from UNL and has managed galleries at the Bemis Center in Omaha and the Lux Center in Lincoln.
